Kaia Skin Cardamom

Benefits of Cardamom in your Skincare

Posted by Kalpana Semple on

According to Ayurveda, cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) is considered a valuable spice with various therapeutic properties. In Ayurvedic skin care, cardamom is believed to have astringent, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties that can help improve the complexion, prevent signs of aging, and reduce skin irritation.

Cardamom is also believed to balance the doshas (body constitution type), particularly the Kapha and Vata doshas, which are associated with oily and dry skin respectively. Its warming nature helps stimulate blood flow and improve circulation, while its antiseptic properties can help prevent infections and treat acne.

Cardamom can be used in various ways in Ayurvedic skin care, such as in face masks, scrubs, and body oils. Its effectiveness is enhanced when combined with other ingredients such as Tulsi (Holy Basil).
